Onsen Therapy

Onsen is an osteopathic-based method of structural balancing which focuses on assessing and correcting structural and functional imbalances. Onsen utilizes Isometric Relaxation and the Muscle Energy Technique to provide painless correction. These techniques provide skeletal repositioning, as well as addressing individual spinal segments with minimal effort and long-term relief.

Ortho-Bionomy

One of the safest and most relaxing forms of bodywork, Ortho-Bionomy is also an excellent complement to other forms of therapy. Developed by an Osteopath, it goes well beyond massage and other forms of bodywork modalities, because it is not done “to” you, but rather “with” you. It utilizes comfortable positioning, gentle contact and relaxing movements to work with your body’s innate intelligence via the nervous system. It is highly effective in relieving pain, increasing flexibility, fluidity and range of motion, and speeding recovery from injury and the effects of stress.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the cranio sacral system – comprised of the membranes and cerebro-spinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. By complementing the body’s natural healing processes, CranioSacral therapy is increasingly used as a preventative health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Origin-Insertion Technique

This technique focuses on the attachment points of the tendons and ligaments, because stress in these areas prevents proper muscle function. When injured, small BB-sized lumps can form. These lumps are believed to be tiny areas where the tendon is partially torn away from the membrane that covers bones and are usually the result of trauma or repetitive stress. The therapist expertly pushes the tendon back down to its attachment on the bone, and gently softens these lumps until they disappear. This helps to stabilize the joint, immediately reduce pain and improve function.
